about

The song title also alludes to the first chapter in The Fellowship of the Ring, where Bilbo and Frodo celebrate their birthdays and invite all of Hobbiton to join in the fun. After all, The Shire is a place where Hobbits seem to live in peace and harmony with nature, cut off from all the trouble and strife that affects the rest of Middle Earth

I've always loved the sound of Uilleann pipes and my intention with this song was to to write a joyous song and also attempt to create my best possible Uilleann pipe imitation on guitar, which is perhaps the thing I'm best known for.

lyrics

The world has changed. I see it in the water. I feel it in the Earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, For none now live who remember it.
