about

EA is the elvish word for Universe. The initial big drums and percussion played across changing odd time signatures are meant to be the chaos of the formation of the Universe. The long ascending transition with the whistles and Sally Minnear singing “Earth sea and sky” represents the creation of the earth with the rising of mountains from the sea.

The phrase, “cathedral of earth, sea and sky” comes from ancient celtic christianity who often referred to Earth in this way. I felt it appropriate to use this phrase, because it seemed consistent with Tolkien's love of nature, as well as his christian worldview.

lyrics

Home, EÄ is our home. Earth Sea and Sky, Cathedral of Life.
